Turner remains physically unusual for lightweight, combining exceptional height and reach with genuine knockout and submission power. Fernandes is technically composed and has the tools to attack Turner's legs and exploit his occasionally inconsistent defensive wrestling, but Turner's range makes mistakes extremely expensive. After briefly retiring and then returning, motivation is an additional uncertainty, yet stylistically I still favour Turner's superior finishing threat in a relatively close matchup.

Álvarez accepted this fight on short notice, but he was already nearby helping Makhachev prepare, so this is not a completely unprepared replacement situation. More importantly, he has finished seven of his nine UFC victories and successfully moved to welterweight by defeating Vicente Luque, while Njokuani recently suffered a 69-second submission loss to Jake Matthews. Njokuani is extremely dangerous at kickboxing range, but if Álvarez survives the early striking exchanges and initiates grappling, his length and submission game provide the clearer path to victory.

This is a fascinating grappler-versus-grappler matchup because Robertson is extremely dangerous from top position, while Dern remains one of the most credentialed submission specialists in women's MMA. Robertson's wrestling could actually put Dern into the positions she wants, however, and Dern has improved significantly in striking exchanges and positional discipline during her championship run. Robertson has a genuine upset route through repeated takedowns and top control, but over five rounds I favour Dern's superior submission threat and improved boxing to produce a competitive decision.

Garry is probably one of the most difficult stylistic opponents available for Islam because of his height, movement, distance management and excellent recent takedown defence-he stopped 15 of 17 combined attempts against Shavkat Rakhmonov and Belal Muhammad. However, Makhachev is considerably more sophisticated than either at chaining wrestling attacks into clinch control, mat returns and positional dominance, and he has now won 16 consecutive fights. Garry should have success at long range, but over five rounds I expect Islam to gradually close distance and accumulate enough control to retain his welterweight title.
