Cifuentes Sacked as Leicester Search for Next Manager
Leicester City have parted ways with manager Marti Cifuentes after a dismal run of form left the club languishing in the bottom half of the Championship, just six months after he took over.
Cifuentes, 43, was appointed in July with the clear goal of restoring the Foxes to the Premier League.
But Saturday’s 2-1 home loss to struggling Oxford United marked his 11th defeat in 29 league games and proved one too many for the club’s hierarchy.
Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said the decision had not been taken lightly, thanking Cifuentes for his dedication, but with promotion slipping away, Leicester now find themselves in yet another managerial search.
