How competitive is the Richmond Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2016, when the race had an over-round of 109%. The race in 2014 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 128%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Richmond Stakes, the over-round has been 116%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £116 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2027 Richmond Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Richmond Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Richmond Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Royal Scotsman (1:09.66) in 2022
  2. Black Forza (1:09.97) in 2024
  3. Ivawood (1:10.09) in 2014

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Richmond Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 4 winners. Backing all 18 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -2.07. Ahead of the 2027 Richmond Stakes, why not head over to the racing predictions for tips on other races today?

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2017 renewal when Barraquero from Brian Meehan under the guidance of William Buick, won in a time of 1:15.42, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Royal Scotsman, trained by Paul & Oliver Cole and ridden by Jim Crowley set the quickest time of 1:09.66 in the 2022 renewal.

What the expert says...
Since 2008, the July Stakes, which is run at Newmarket, has produced seven winners of this race; the last to do so was Asymmetric in 2021, who finished runner-up in the July Stakes before coming to win this race.
